Description
This year, 850 years have elapsed since the name Ljubljana was first mentioned in written sources. The article describes the activities staged in Ljubljana in 1944 to mark the 800th anniversary ofthe first mention ofthe town. The author takes us back to 1939, when preparatory activities for the celebration of the anniversary were already underway in the form of plans for the publication of a monograph ofLjubljana. This is followed by a description of the work done on the monograph and the activities that took place in 1944 to celebrate the anniversary ofthe first mention ofthe town.
