In the high and late Middle Ages, the traffic was much more lively as we usually think. In his article, the author presente numerous examples of diversity of medìaeval traffic. He deals with road Connections based on feudal estates, military campaigns, particularly of mercenaries, different ways of communication within thè Church and clerical Orders, pilgrimages, and the problem of dissemination of information in mediaeval society. Journeys of some famous persons through former Slovene lands are presented. The author shows that already in the Middle Ages, Slovenia was a very transit land, and that a lot of our inhabitants set out on long journeys from various reasons.
