On the basis ol historical and mainly newspaper materials important events bave been selected to present politicai, syndicate and social Organisation and activity ol the population in the district Slovenj Gradec in the period from 1929 to 1941. Parties performing activities in the mentioned district were the lollowing: The Yugoslav radicai peasant democracy (Jugoslovanska radikalna kmečka demokracija), namely the Yugoslav nationalparty (Jugoslovanska nacionalna stranka), Yugoslav nationalParty (Bodjer's) (Jugoslovanska narodna stranka), Slovene people's party (Slovenska ljudska stranka), namely the Slovene part of thè Yugoslav radicai community (Jugoslovanska radikalna zajednica). Followers of the disintegrated Socialistparty ol Yugoslavia (Socialistična stranka Jugoslavije)joined in the so-called socialst movement. Also active were the peasant movement - the Peasantry alliance (Kmečka zveza), a catholic trade Organisation The alliance ol United workers (Zveza združenih delavcev), and ol the educationalcultural organisations youth organisations had an important role. The purpose ol this proceeding is to contribute to furthermicro research olthe mentionedregion.
