Creators deemed trainings as preparation for the exam on the professional competence and continuing training as necessary and beneficial, which
is also evidenced by good attendance in education and training which are conducted by the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia, regional archives, and Interarchival expert group for issues regarding on health care and social welfare.
Some creators have already responded to the invitation to participate in sharing experience in the fields of their work by giving lectures, and disseminating
knowledge by publications of articles in Arhivi.
Educations and trainings, active participation with creators and preparing written expert rules lead to our most fundamental task: the aquisition of archives into competent archives and thus preserving written heritage of healthcare institutions. In most cases, the participants of our seminars become more
aware of the obligations of entities under public law (JPO) to documents and
archives after our training, but not always. When visiting a participant, we are
sometimes surprised to see that employees, despite attending our seminar, do
not understand their obligations (the common denominator of all problems
with all JPO are lack of time, too few employees, employees who manage documents often draw attention to the fact that there is no time for archival tasks,
and sometimes lack of understanding of their superiors, they have also suggested their bosses attend our seminars etc.). Only with continuing training will we
be able to increase the awareness of how important it is to preserve the recordings of current events for future generations. We can conclude that trainings
complemented with active participation with creators are an important part of
the process when acquiring archives.
