The article reviews the life and work of the most eminent physicists working in Ljubljana in the time of abolition of jesuit order in 1773. Their key contribution was the domination of Boškovič's physics in Ljubljana. A special concern is put on jesuit ideas about vacuum, flogiston caloric, luminiscence and Aurora Borealis, their observation of the passage of Venus across the disc of the Sun their work in hydrotechnic and their pedagogical work in Ljubljana.
