The article focuses on the confraternities of the Kamnik Parish in and their
annual cycle of worship services. From the art historical point of view, the article draws attention to their role as commissioners, and also serves to highlight the two paintings of the highest quality, namely the late Gothic frescoes in the Church of St Primus above Kamnik (the Master of the Krainburg Altar, beginning of the 16th century) and the Baroque frescoes in the Kamnik Parish Church (Franc Jelovšek, 1734–1735). the Confraternity of Mary in Kamnik (the so-called Great Confraternity) was
involved with the frescoes in St Primus Church, while their involvement with
the frescoes in the Parish Church has not yet been observed
