Description

The library at the castle of Tuštanj is composed of the old castle library, the Pirnat family library, and personal library of Professor Maks Pirnat. The castle library was placed in a special bookcase in the back saloon. In contains above all old material of previous owners, mainly in German language. Noticeable among this material is Valvasor's Topographia ducatus Carniolae modernae, 1679, and it is the oldest volume in the library. The family library consist of in economy useful literature, and of literature in Slovene language, there was also a good deal of cartographic material. The third part of the library is composed of material from the legacy of Professor Maks Pirnat, Slavist, teacher andpopular-scientific writer, composed of several school yearbooks and compendiums. He marked the majority of the material in his library with signatures.

      • Knjižnica na gradu Tuštanj je sestavljena iz stare grajske, rodbinske Pirnatovih in osebne knjižnice prof. Maksa Pirnata. Grajska knjižnica je bila postavljena v posebni knjižni omari v zadnjem salonu. Vsebuje predvsem staro gradivo prejšnjih lastnikov, večinoma v nemščini. V tem gradivu je izstopajoče delo Valvasorjeva Topographia ducatus Carnioliae modernae, 1679, in to je tudi najstarejši primerek v knjižnici. Rodbinska knjižnica zajema predvsem pri gospodarstvu uporabno literaturo in leposlovje v slovenščini, precej je tudi kartografskega gradiva. Tretji del knjižnice pa sestavlja gradivo iz zapuščine prof. Maksa Pirnata, slavista, učitelja in poljudnoznanstvenega pisatelja, ki jo sestavlja več šolskih letopisov in učbenikov. Večino gradiva v svoji knjižnicije označil s podpisi.
