The article deals with the charter by Emperor Frederick III on the improvement of the Camiolan coat of arms from January of 1463, which is one of the most important documents of the fifteenth Century. Its issue is set in the context of historical events in this turbulent period. Attention has been turned to the establishment of honorary posts of the hereditary Marshall, Steward, and Cup-bearer in Carniola and in the Windic March, since grounds for their creation are closely linkedto the aforementioned charter. The research also deals with thirty-two noblemen who are known by name; it has been proven that they do not represent the entire Carniolan contingent that helped the emperor in Vienna.
