Description
In the Eastem Alps and on the threshold of the Mediterranean, contacts between the Romance, the Slavic, and the Germanic-speaking population with various cultural traditions came about in the Middle Ages. Initial confrontations were followedby integration and acculturation processes which resulted in the formation of a specific multilingual cultural landscape. The treatise deals with individual cases of integration, acculturation and accommodation in the relevant space and time.
