Development of the medical care and medicine had made along with the human growth and prosperity a significant impact on improving the quality of the life of the child. Vaccine, a number of drugs (antibiotics, insulin, vitamins, corticosteroids) and surgical procedures have significantly reduced mortality and morbidity, especially contagious diseases (diphteria, scrlet fever …), cronic diseases (diabetes, rickets …) and congenital diseases (heart defects, congenital hip dislocation …). With the health insurance and the states’s entry into the public health sistem (child outpatient clinics, hospital wards, school medicine …) brought a regular curative and preventive health care for children.

      • Razvoj zdravstva in medicine ob prosvetljevanju ljudi in rasti blaginje so pomembno vplivali na izboljšanje kakovosti otroštva. Cepiva, številna zdravila (antibiotiki, insulin, vitamini, kortikosteroidi) in kirurški posegi so bistveno zmanjšali umrljivost in obolevnost, predvsem za nalezljivimi (davica, škrlatinka…), kroničnimi (diabetes, rahitis…) in prirojenimi boleznimi (srčne napake, izpah kolkov …). Vpeljava zdravstvenega zavarovanja in vstop države v javnozdravstveni sistem (otroški dispanzerji, bolnišnični oddelki, šolska medicina…) pa so vpeljali redno kurativno in preventivno zdravstveno skrb za otroke.
