Organized health care of children in Slovenia started to develope relatively late. More concretely we talk about it at the beginning of the 20th century, when in Vienna set the guidelines for the organization of child protection in Austrian provinces. Child protection, which was previously dependent on the mercy of individuals, gradually started as a duty of organized society. Findings that the health care of children and youth, and medical oversight are neccessary, are a significant point in the medical role in child protection. Doctor began to intervene on the field of child care, as well as to the familly. So, mother started to be tought about children’s education, care and hygiene. With the development of the scientific medicine and social services the child became a subject of scientific inquiry as a person. The purpose of the paper is to analize popular health publications on medical child education, to show its main topics and on which areas of child protection, education and life has it intervened.
