History lessons in our schools are constantly torn between the officially designed concepts and actual school practice of individual teachers. Since we cannot find a way to effectively connect both sides, a consideration is in order for the teachers and methodologists or didactics if we wish to keep up with modern developments in lessons. History in Slovenian schools is a basic humanistic subject. This fact not only strengthens its meaning, but considerably deepens the role and responsibility of history in society. Only the broadest possible design of history lessons will enable the subject to grow on all levels and to remain in the curricula of all subjects as a mandatory subject and to maintain quality. To rid ourselves of constant traps and predicaments, the reality of our history teaching has to be such to quickly follow the desires of individual teachers and adapt itself to our pupils and students.

      • Pouk zgodovine je v naši šoli nenehno razpet med uradno oblikovane koncepte in neposredno šolsko prakso posameznih učiteljev. Ker nam ne uspeva, da bi zadosti učinkovito povezovali oba pola, se mi zdi vedno znova nujen premislek, ki ga moramo na tem mestu opraviti predvsem učitelji in metodiki oz. didaktiki, saj drugače pri pouku ni mogoče slediti sodobnemu času. Zgodovina je v slovenski šoli temeljni humanistični predmet. To dejstvo samo ne krepi njenega pomena, se pa s tem njena vloga in odgovornost temeljito poglablja. Samo najširša zasnova pouka zgodovine nam bo omogočila, da bo naš predmet v predmetnikih na vseh stopnjah ostal kot obvezna sestavina in kvaliteta. Da bi se rešili stalnih pasti in trenutnih zadreg, mora postati realnost našega pouka zgodovine takšna, da bo hitro sledila željam posameznih učiteljev ter se prilagajala našim učencem in dijakom.
