The author examines the position, status and development of the Slovene nation within the Serb-Croat-Slovene State, a sovereign state community of the former Habsburg-dominated Yugoslavs which existed between October 29,1918 and December 1, 1918, until the Serb-Croat-Slovene State and the Kingdom of Serbia were united within the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. The author states that within the Serb-Croat-Slovene State the Slovenes could freely decide on all issues relevant to the sovereignty of a genuine national and social entity, and where thus able to exercise their sovereignty in all vital spheres of national life — political, social, economic and cultural.
