On the basis of some laws passed by the AVNOJ (Anti-Fascist Council of National Liberation of Yugoslavia) presidency in the spring of 1945 with the aim of regulating economic activities, the author describes the ways and means with which the new authorities changed former property relations. This was not done in an open class struggle between the new authorities led by the Communist Party on one hand and the owners of capital on the other; the conflict and changes in the socio-economic relationships within the Yugoslav revolution are described through the concept of »patriotic nationalization«.
