The article presents two UNESCO conventions: the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage
(2003) and the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (2005). Also
included is a presentation of the Council of Europe Framework Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society
(2005) and two Slovenian regulations adopted subsequently: the Rules on the Cultural Heritage Register (2009) and the
Rules on the Registry of Types of Heritage and Protection Guidelines (2010). By means of the latter two, Slovenia aligned its
legislation mostly with the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
