Description
Prof. Dr. Branko Reisp was born on July 17, 1928 in Žiri. He graduated in history on the Ljubljana Faculty of Arts in 1959. He started his professional career in the library of the National Museum of Slovenia, which he led from 1964 to 1994. He lectured on the Department of history on University of Ljubljana in the years 1983-1989 and 1992-1997 on its Department for library sciences. His main research topic was the Slovene cultural history of the period from 16th to 19th century, and especially Johann Weichard Valvasor.
A bibliography of his publications for the period 1962-1998 is published following the article.

- Prof.dr. Branko Reisp se je rodil 17.7.1928 v Žireh. Leta 1959 je diplomiral iz zgodovine na ljubljanski Filozofski fakulteti. Zaposlil se je v knjižnici Narodnega muzeja v Ljubljani in bil 1964-1994 njen vodja. V letih 1983-1989 je predaval na oddelku za zgodovino ter od 1992 do upokojitve 1997 na oddelku za bibliotekarstvo ljubljanske Filozofske fakultete. Glavna tema njegovega proučevanja je slovenska kulturna zgodovina 16. do 19. stoletja, zlasti Janez Vajkard Valvasor. Njegove objave so zbrane v dodani bibliografiji in obsegajo čas od 1962 do 1998.
