On the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of Gregor Čremošnik's death on November 12, 1958, Zgodovinski časopis brings its readers his hitherto unpublished treatise on medieval schools in Dubrovnik. The study, which was found in Čremošnik's legacy, speaks about different developmental phases of Dubrovnik's schools. In 1333 these schools started to receive government subsidy, and in 1435 the bill on education, which divided secondary schools into classical and business schools, was passed. The treatise deals with individual teachers, their salaries, and their social standing, highlighting especially Slavic schools.
