Description
Even though the need for farmers to have their own »representative bodies« had already been stressed by J. Ev. Krek, the Chambers of Agriculture in Yugoslav lands were constituted only in 1937. As far as electoral regulations and the elections themselves were concerned, the Chamber councillors in Slovenia - and thus the chamber leaders - belonged mainly to the Slovene part of the Yugoslav Radical Union (JRZ). It has been established that the Chamber leaders actually belonged to Kmečka zveza (Farmer's Union). During World War II the Chamber functioned within the so-called Ljubljana Province until the spring of 1942, and resumed its work under the German occupation, but also within the same territory, and only serving war requirements.

Krek. V prvi jugoslovanski državi so kmetijske zbornice po večkratnih poskusih ustanovili šele 1937. Glede na volilni red in same volitve so v Sloveniji zbornični svetniki in s tem vodstvo v pretežni meri pripadali slovenskemu delu JRZ.
