Description
The Republic of Ragusa, doubtless the part of the westeuropean context in Balkan, had succeeded to survive and even to prosper thanks to her own diplomacy and intelligence service. The article tries to explain the Ragusa's figure in the international affairs, her diplomatic activities, and the defectiveness of her diplomatic evolution, which finally caused the fall of the Republic.

- Dubrovniška republika je kot enklava zahodnoevropske civilizacije na turškem Balkanu uspela najti svoj življenski prostor zahvaljujoč svoji diplomatski dejavnosti in obveščevalni službi. Razloge za obstoj Dubrovnika, hkrati pa tudi za njegov propad, je treba iskati v njegovi vlogi političnega subjekta, v njegovi diplomatski ažurnosti, njegovem razvoju diplomatskih metod ter (ne)prilagodljivosti sočasnim evropskim političnim prilikam.
