Description
Josip Lučič was born on July 1st, 1924, in Poličnik by Zadar. In 1952 he graduated at Zagreb Faculty of Arts, where he worked as an assistant for Croatian medieval history for some years. Later on, he became a collaborator of the Centre for Historical Sciences at Zagreb University and a lecturer in Zadar and Dubrovnik. In his work, he dealt with the medieval history of Dubrovnik, published many studies and treatises and took care of sources publishing in a series Monumenta historica Ragusina. Prof. Dr. Josip Lučič died on December 3rd, 1994, in still besieged Dubrovnik, from where his family came and to which he dedicated his scientific work.

      • Josip Lučič se je rodil 1. julija 1924 v Poličniku pri Zadru. Leta 1952 je diplomiral na zagrebški Filozofski fakulteti, kjer je bil nekaj let asistent za hrvaško srednjeveško zgodovino. Pozneje je bil sodelavec Centra za zgodovinske znanosti zagrebške univerze in predavatelj v Zadru in Dubrovniku. V svojem delu se je ukvarjal s srednjeveško zgodovino Dubrovnika in ob mnogih študijah in razpravah skrbel tudi za izdajanje virov v seriji Monumenta historica Ragusina. Prof. dr. Josip Lučič je umrl 3. decembra 1994 v še vedno obleganem Dubrovniku, od koder je izviral njegov rod in kateremu je posvetil svoje znanstveno delo.
