The state of seigniories is described on the basis of a register dating back to the end of the 18th century, containing also data from which economic characteristics and dimensions of those institutions could be gathered. Actually, those data refer to the usufruct expressed in money sums, the owners obtained, tax amounts burdening dominical and rustic estates (farms), the value of seigniories and the number of so-called »hubas« (farms as a whole). Some of those data are quoted for larger seigniories, mostly, however, they give a general survey both through districts and for the province as a whole, especially referring to the structure of ownership (church institutions, nobility, ordinary customers), to the extent as to the value and the number of belonging »hubas«, as well as tax burdens.
