Description
The author deals with Domitian's legend from the aspect of authenticity of pagan temple existence in Millstatt. In his opinion, Domitian was a historical personality, and so were his deeds. In the context of place and time, the author explains the phenomenon »ecclesia demonibus addicta« as a syncretistic heretical church, in which the worshipping of the pagan water goddess (Mokoši?) was united with the Old Christian religious sect. Domitian, the local mayor, suppressed this worship.

      • Avtor obravnava Domicijanovo legendo z vidika verodostojnosti obstoja poganskega svetišča v Millstattu. Meni, da je bil Domicijan historična osebnost in prav tako dejanja, ki jih je opravil. Po pritegnitvi konteksta kraja in časa avtor razloži pojem »ecclesia demonibus addicta« kot sinkretistično heretično cerkev, v kateri se je združevalo čaščenje poganske vodne boginje (Mokoši?) s starokrščansko versko ločino. To čaščenje je Domicijan, krajevni župan, zatrl.
