Jože Koropec (born 17. 3. 1923 in Bukovec by Zgornja Polskava) graduated from secondary school in Maribor, graduated history and geography on the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana in 1948. 1963-1990 he was profesor on the Pedagogic Academy in Maribor. He reached his doctor's degree in 1970 with the theme Dominions in Drava valley till the end of 16th century. He has been researching the history of Slovenian Styria in the Middle Ages and until the 17th century, especialy class-conflicts in rural areas and the history of Maribor.

      • Jože Koropec (r. 17. 3. 1923 na Bukovcu pri Zgornji Polskavi) je maturiral v Mariboru in leta 1948 diplomiral iz zgodovine in zemljepisa na Filozofski fakulteti v Ljubljani. 1963-1990 je bil profesor na Pedagoški akademiji v Mariboru. Doktoriral je 1970 s temo Zemljiške gospoščine v Dravski dolini do konca 16. stoletja. Njegovo glavno delo zajema predvsem agrarno zgodovino slovenske Štajerske v srednjem veku in do 17. stoletja, posebej problematiko razrednih nasprotij na podeželju in deloma tudi zgodovino Maribora.
