Description
The authoress deals with development and activities of the Slovene Christian Social Party in Venezia-Giulia under fascist Italy. Until abolishment of institutions of the Slovene and Croat minorities, 1927—1930, it was legally active with societies, press, economic institutions, against fascist denationalization, however, mostly, in the Italian parliament with loyalty tactics. In the thirties it withdrew cultivation of Slovene language, culture, traditions and national awareness of populations into churches, the Slovene priest became a holder of resistance against Italian assimilation and fascization. At that time the party was divided into the right, catholic group leaning on Vatican, and on the left one which became party of the »Center« during the War because it didn't oppose to the communist Liberation Front.

      • Avtorica prikazuje razvoj in delovanje slovenske krščanske socialne stranke v Julijski krajini pod fašistično Italijo. Do razpusta institucij slovenske in hrvaške narodne manjšine, 1927-1930, deluje legalno z društvi, tiskom, gospodarskimi ustanovami, proti fašističnemu raznarodovanju pa predvsem v italijanskem parlamentu s taktiko lojalnosti. V tridesetih letih umakne gojenje slovenskega jezika, kulture, tradicij in narodne zavesti prebivalstva v cerkve, slovenski duhovnik postane nosilec odpora italijanski asimilaciji in fašizaciji. Tedaj je struja razcepljena v desno, katoliško skupino ki se naslanja na Vatikan, in levo, ki postane med vojno »sredinska«, ker ne nasprotuje komunistični osvobodilni fronti.
