Janko Jarc was bom on the 25th of Dec. 1903 in Črnomelj. He studied History and Slavonic studies in Prague and Ljubljana where he graduated 1931. He is the last living member of Scientific Institute of the Slovenian Resistance Movement during WW II. Since the establishment of Dolenjski muzej (Museum of Lower Carniola) in Novo mesto in 1950 until his retirement in 1975 he was its director. He published several books and treatises about history of Novo mesto, Lower Carniola, Bela Krajina (White Carniola) and the Slovenian Resistance Movement.

      • Janko Jarc je bil rojen 25. 12. 1903 v Črnomlju. Zgodovino in slavistiko je študiral v Pragi in Ljubljani, kjer je diplomiral 1931. Je zadnji živeči sodelavec Znanstvenega inštituta pri predsedstvu SNOS. Bil je ravnatelj Dolenjskega muzeja v Novem mestu od ustanovitve 1950 do svoje upokojitve 1975. Objavil je več knjig in razprav o zgodovini Novega mesta. Dolenjske, Bele krajine in NOB.
