Description
The contribution brings a new thesis on the formation of the medieval settlement, »the town of three towns«. The core and beginning of the settlement is the Town (Civitas), before it the suburbs Square (Forum) and New Square (forum novum) were formed in succession, on account of which the Forum was then named Old Square (first in 1324 in the document »in den alten mareht«). The process was relatively short and concluded soon after the middle of the 13th century.

- Prispevek prinaša novo tezo o nastajanju ljubljanske srednjeveške naselbine, »mesta treh mest«. Jedro in začetek naselbine je Mesto (civitas), pred njim sta zapovrstjo nastala predmestja Trg (forum) in Novi trg (forum novum), zavoljo katerega je Trg nato dobil vzdevek Stari trg (prvič 1324 v listini »in den alten marcht«). Proces je bil relativno kratek in se je zaključil kmalu po sredi 13. stoletja.
