Description
Studies of religious circumstances in Slovenia in the third quarter of the 16th century are based mainly on the correspondance between the bishop of Ljubljana Urban Kale (»Textoris«) and Ignatius Loyola. The study analyses some less known or unknown data as: relativen early connection of Slovenes with the newly founded Society of Jesus, unrealization of bishop's plan to make a jesuit bishop of Ljubljana or Trst/Trieste; philoprotestant mood of the then Slovene students of theology in Rome. The study is with recent literature enriched abstract from the doctoral dissertation which the author succesfully advocated on the 7th of July 1971 at the Pontificio Istituto Orientale in Rome.
