Jurist and historian Dr. Anton Svetina was born on the 12th of july 1891 and died on 17th of may 1987. During Pre-war Yugoslavia and the occupation he served in administrative jobs, from 1950 to 1952 he worked in the City Archive in Ljubljana. He entered the field of law history by chance, when — during his service as a county chief officer in Bela krajina (White Carniola) — he found three manuscripts from the 18th century. He was also engaged in the history of Ljubljana; wrote of history of hunting and fishing. Individual comributions on local history of Styria and Carniola were published in periodical press. The memorial note is concluded with a survey of his bibliography.
