Description
The commune Dobrla vas has in 1873 in the person of Jurij Hobl from Šentvid in Podjuna gained its first Slovenian mayor. The provincial government then divided the whole Šentvid region from the Dobrla vas/Eberndorf commune and established its own — Rikarja vas. In 1892 Dobrla vas/Eberndorf gained its second Slovenian mayor — Janez Šumah, a farmer from Sinča vas. Having succeeded all debts of the commune he was to be economical in order to pay them back which costed him votes especially in the third curia. In 1902 he lost the position of a mayor, although in 1898 he won the elections with 11 against 7 mandates.

      • Občina Dobrla vas je dobila leta 1873 v osebi Jurija Hobla, doma iz Šentvida v Podjuni, svojega prvega slovenskega župana. Deželna vlada je nato celotni Šentviški predel oddelila od občine Dobrla vas in ustanovila lastno občino Rikarja vas. Leta 1892 je Dobrla vas dobila svojega drugega slovenskega župana v osebi Janeza Šumaha, kmeta v Sinči vasi. Ker je moral prevzeti velike občinske dolgove, je moral zelo šteediti, da jih je odplačal. To ga je stalo mnogo glasov, posebno onih v 3. kuriji. Leta 1901 je zgubil župansko mesto, čeravno je zmagal leta 1898 še z 11 proti 7 mandatom.
