Description
After the German attack on Yugoslavia the representatives of the Yugoslav emigrants agreed on their meeting on the 14th of April 1941 in New York to establish a special organisation to help the old homeland. In this paper is on basis of notes from meetings of this organisation named Yugoslav Emergency Council shown its activity up to the 12th of June 1941. Yugoslav Emergency Council tried to attract into its activity as many emigrants of Yugoslav origin as possible. In its rules — that are also presented — the organisation stressed primarily political help for the restoration of the Yugoslav State on basis of political and economical democracy on USA patern.

      • Po napadu sil Osi na Jugoslavijo so se predstavniki jugoslovanskih izseljencev v New Yorku 14. aprila 1941 dogovorili, da bodo ustanovili posebno organizacijo za pomoč stari domovini. V prispevku je na podlagi zapisnikov sej te organizacije, imenovane »Yugoslav Emergency Council« prikazano njeno delovanje do 12. junija 1941. Omenjena organizacija je skušala k svoji dejavnosti pritegniti čimveč izseljencev jugoslovanskega izvora, v svojih pravilih, ki so tudi predstavljena, pa je naglašala predvsem politično pomoč za obnovitev jugoslovanske države na osnovi politične in ekonomske demokracije po vzoru ZDA.
