Description
The beginning of settlement of the Tolmin Region stretches from 70.000 to 30.000 years B.C. (first half of the last Glacial). Permanent colonisation begins with the Middle or Late Bronze Age. The Sveta Lucija Hallstatt group presents one of the culminations of cultural development. Succeeding were the Idrija group of Latene culture (Idrija pri Bači), the Romans, and not until 9th—10th century came the Slaves.

      • Meja naselitvene zgodovine se na Tolminskem razteza v čas od 70.000 do 30.000 let pred sedanjostjo (prva polovica zadnje ledene dobe). Stalna in kontinuirana poselitev pa se začne šele od srednje ali pozne bronaste dobe dalje. Eden razvojnih vrhuncev je svetolucijska železnodobna kulturna skupina. Za njo je nastopila latenskodobna idrijska kulturna skupina (Idrija pri Bači). Nato nastopijo Rimljani in šele od 9. ali 10. stoletja Slovani.
