Description
The author deals vvith dissimilar development of the educational system in some Dalmatian towns (Split, Zadar) and especially in Dubrovnik. The report is limited to the time when the school activity was mentioned for the first time, until assertion of the humanistic ideas in the educational system at the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th Century. The organization of the educational sysem in the towns along the east Adriatic coast was strongly influenced by the neighbouring Italy. The author also mentions the influence of the educational system on the rise of the cultural level, mostly by means of wide circulation of the books and their meaning. He particularly points out to the activity of the Cyrillic-Slav school in Dubrovnik and setting up of the Cyrillic printing houses in Italy.

      • Obravnavan je različen razvoj šolstva v nekaterih dalmatinskih mestih (Split, Zadar) in v Dubrovniku, pri čemer je dan večji poudarek raziskavam dubrovniškega šolstva. Časovno je obravnava omejena na čas od prvih omemb šolske dejavnosti do uveljavljanja humanističnih idej v šolstvu konec 15. in v začetku 16. stoletja. Na organizacijo šolstva v mestih na vzhodni jadranski obali je imela zelo močan vpliv sosednja Italija. Avtor se dotakne še vpliva šolstva na dvig kulturne ravni, kamor sodi predvsem širjenje in pomen knjige. Posebej opozori na delovanje cirilske-slovenske šole v Dubrovniku in ustanavljanje cirilskih tiskarn v Italiji.
