The director of the Študijska knjižnica (Study Library) at Koper, Srečko Vilhar (1907—1976), a revolutionary, a partisan, a social-political and educational worker from the Primorska region (the Slovene Littoral), made also an important contribution to the development of journalism and professional historical studies. He wrote articles and studies, which have scholarly value, concerning the history of Trst (Trieste), Gorica, Koper, and generally about the Primorska region (the Slovene Littoral); he devoted his attention to the history of the Primorska region (the Slovene Littoral), and in the final period of his life niso to the contribution of the Overseas Brigades in the history of the National Liberation War.
