The author treats the growth of traffic lines and trade in Pohorje and the Pohorje area from the 10th century till the end of the Middle Ages. He underlines the complexity of the West-East and the South-North trade lines, the transfer of the traffic from one to another and relates the development of the latter with the establishment of towns, boroughs and toll-houses. In the final section the author gives an outline of trade on long distances and the local business traffic, the presentation of trading goods and the forms of land and sea traffic.
