The national liberation war in Trieste began at the same time as in other parts of Slovenia. The main targets were the same as for the Slovene national territory: the expulsion of the enemy, the uniting of the Slovenes, the social transformation of the Slovene nation. The author describes the first beginnings of development of the OF in Trieste in 1941, which, however, were relatively modest, but gradually grew over into the basis for the activity of the Liberation Front in the national liberation war in Trieste and finally led to the liberation in May 1945.
