The author deals with the role of the General Leon Rupnik within the collaborationistic forces in Slovenia in the years of occupation, mostly, however, with his relationship to the Slovene »domobranstvo« (»home-guard«), the main military formation, the nazi occupier made of the Slovenes to fight against the national liberation movement. Together with the leaders of the Clerical Party he helped the Germans to establish the »domobranstvo« and later on, as President of the provincial administration, but also as general inspector and commander, took care for its development. The essence of his ideology was that the »domobranstvo« should become an allnational movement, which would defeat the Bolshevism and abolish the remains of the bourgeois democracy. This should lead to the establishment of the Slovene National-Socialist Party and foundation of a new Slovenia in the frame of a new Europe under the patronage of the Great Germany.
