Description
Kardelj-Sperans's book on Slovene national question appeared on January 29th 1939. At that time western democratic bloc of states had been over-whelmed in Europe by »Anschluss« of Austria and by Munich-agreement on Sudetenland and Czecho-Slovakia. The League of Nations and the U. S. S. R. had done nothing for the preservation of an independent Austria and for the territorial integrity of Czecho-Slovakia. On the internal stage a concealed dictatorship in the Yugoslav Kingdom continued, but the policy of the Popular Front in Slovenia strenghtened and spread into masses at the elections on December 1938.

      • Kardelj-Speransovo delo je izšlo 29. januarja 1939. Čas njenega nastajanja v letu 1938 tako označuje poraz zahodnih demokratičnih držav s priznanjem priključitve Avstrije k nemškemu rajhu in s podpisom munchenskega sporazuma o Sudetih in o Čehoslovaški. Društvo narodov in Sovjetska zveza nista kot mirovna dejavnika ukrenila ničesar za ohranitev samostojne Avstrije in za ozemeljsko celovitost Čehoslovaške. Na notranjepolitičnem področju je v Jugoslaviji to čas nadaljevanja prikrite diktature, na drugi strani pa rezultati decembrskih volitev leta 1938 že nakazujejo prodor ideje ljudske fronte v Sloveniji med široke ljudske množice.
