Description
The author deseribes the history of the Venetian Slovenia and Resia in the period 1866—1918. He analyses the so called plebiscite in 1866, the demographic curve, the numerical strength of the Slovenes, as well as the economic, social, political, educational, religious and other cireumstances. He comes to the conclusion that the 50 years long denationalizing oppression in all domains did not affect the objective elements of the adherence to the Slovene nation. This fact raises the question as regards the loosening of the subjective elements, which would lead to the undisturbed development of the Slovenes in the discussed territory.
