Mainly on the basis of the statistical data and discussion in the electoral committee of the Lower House of the Austrian Parliament the author deals with the electoral reform, which introduced universal and equal man suffrage in Austria. He further discusses about the athmosphere for the Slovenes after the Gautsch's proposals (on February 1906), about the changes, which brought forth the negotiations among the parties afterwards, as well as about the final results of the reform and its meaning for the Slovenes.
