Description
In his report the author gave a survey of results of investigations, carried out so far, concerning Turkish attacks and invasions of Slovene provinces during the period of almost 200 years. The author at the same time called attention to some untouched and open questions. He presented the summary chronology of Turkish attacks, their extent, invasion routes — ali this has been best investigated so far. He pointed at consequences of Turkish invasions upon the Slovene territory: driving away of Slovene people to slavery, buying of slaves and captives vvhich led up to a special form of trade. The author discusses also the fate of Turkish captives in Slovene provinces. Turkish invasions brought about substantial desolation in Slovene provinces and this resulted in a nevv colonization. In principal lines the author points to the system and organization of defence against Turkish attacks and gives particular emphasis to fortified refuges-camps built by peasants for their safety.
