Description
The article, vvhich is mainly written on the basis of sources of the Arch-bishop's Archives in Ljubljana, presents economic, social, cultural and national situation of inhabitants at Šmihel near Pliberk in Carinthia between the 16th and the 18th century. The statistics of inhabitants is also presented. Peasants, bondsmen, in flat areas, did not vvork only in agriculture and cattle breeding, but also in weaving and brevving of beer. In social aspect the fate of peasant servants vvas especially deplorable, because they were compelled to beg when they vvere old and could not work any longer.

      • V članku, napisanem v glavnem na podlagi virov Kapiteljskega arhiva v Ljubljani, so prikazane gospodarske, socialne, kulturne in narodnostne prilike prebivalstva Šmihela pri Pliberku na Koroškem od 16. do 18. stoletja. Podana je tudi statistika prebivalstva. Kmečki podložniki v ravninskih predelih so se bavili poleg poljedelstva in živinoreje tudi z domačo obrtjo, predvsem s tkalstvom in varjenjem piva (kamnitega ola). V socialnem pogledu je bila pomilovanja vredna usoda kmečkih poslov, ki so zaradi delanezmožnosti morali na stara leta trpeti usodo beračev.
