The article aims to establish that Primož Trubar (1508-1586), the author of the first Slovene printed book, was not born in Temek mill in Rašica (25 kilometers southeast of Ljubljana), which today is turned into a museum complex, but rather on the property 400 meters away called Šklop mill. The urbaria of the Turjak estate, which date back to 1464 and which have again been made available, reveal that at the time of Trubar's birth only Šklop mill was in his father's possession, whereas Temek mill was for some time run by his relatives on his mother side. Younger urbaria and other sources, such as cadastres, land registers etc. have served to establish the exact location of the mills in Rašica. Turjak (German Auersperg) is the only land estate in the Slovene territory for which urbaria rccords have been well and continually presented, enabling us to compile a historicat survey of property owners for almost every home for nearly the past five and a half centuries. Among other things, urbaria also reveal that Primož Trubar's surname on his fathers side mas Malnar, but that he later chose to take on his mother's surname of Trubar.
