The article discusses the importance of personal data protection as constitutionally defined right and legal regulation of this issue in Slovenia as compared to Europe in regard to accesing personal files of former nationat security Agency. Records created by predecessors of the Slovene Intelligence and Security Agency prior to 1990 were to accordance with Slovene legislation transfered to the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia. As such they are accesible to persons to whom they relate, or to those that prove legal interes based on legal ground (Victims of War Violence Act, Act on Denacionalisation. Redressing of political Injustices Act).
