Opis
The Dobrna health resort is set in an attractive rural setting at the southern foot of the Paški Kozjak mountain range. Scattered villas and mansions that blend with the green locale, as well as old taverns give the visitor the first impression of the important historical formation standing at the end of the road that runs through the settlement and past the church overhang. The harmonious urban whole developed at the time of social and economic boom in the 19th century, when the tree avenues, grass grounds and flower beds enhanced the stature of the buildings in the health resort. The health parks of the 19th century were a stylistic derivative of English landscaping, enriched with the elements of Romanticism and Classicism, as well as with the introduction of non-native plant species, various horticultural facilities and furnishings. The author of the contribution lists a series of milestones in the development of the health resort’s park, presents the features of its design and puts it on a par with some contemporaneous health resort parks in the then monarchy.

      • Zdravilišče Dobrna je situirano v krajinsko privlačnem okolju pod južnimi obronki Paškega Kozjaka. Razpršene vile in dvorci, obdani z zelenjem, ter stare gostilne opozarjajo na pomembno historično formacijo, do katere nas vodi cesta skozi naselje in mimo cerkvenega pomola. Zaokrožena urbanistična celota se je razvila v času družbenega in gospodarskega razcveta 19. stoletja, ko so drevoredne poteze, trate in cvetoče gredice dopolnjevale zdraviliške stavbe. Zdraviliški parki 19. stoletja so bili slogovna izpeljanka angleškega krajinskega sloga, obogateni s prvinami romanticizma in klasicizma, s tujerodnim rastlinjem, vrtnimi objekti in opremo. Prispevek naniza mejnike v razvoju zdraviliškega parka, predstavi njegove oblikovne značilnosti in ga postavi ob bok nekaterih sočasnih zdraviliških parkov takratne monarhije.
