Opis

Paper presents the story about rescuing two groups of Jewish refugees, children and youth that had been running away form the Holocaust in Central Europe and the Balkans. First group was passing Zagreb and Lesno Brdo near Vrhnika and in July 1942 ended up coming to Nonatola near Modena. They were lead by Josef Indig, a Jew from Virovitica. In Nonatola another group joined them in April 1943. There they met a Slovenian family Vendramin which run away from Solkan, because of fascist prosecution of the father – teacher. Andrej was very active in helping rescue a group of Jewish children, together with the local priest and doctor, who were after the war recognized as Righteous among the Nations. After the war Vandramin family returned home and the role of teacher Andrej Vandramin was unknown till today. The process of recognition his merit in rescuing Jews during the Holocaust is in process.

      • Prispevek obravnava zgodbo reševanja dveh skupin judovskih beguncev, otrok in mladostnikov, ki so iz srednje Evrope in Balkana bežali pred holokavstom.
