      • On the basis of the Decision No 464-351/999- 71, issued by the Ministry of Culture of the RS on 6 February 2004, the Municipality of Krško became the registered owner of Rajhenburg castle which was pronounced the cultural monument of national importance approved by Ordinance designating Rajhenburg castle (OG RS No 81/99 and 46/05). Upon the conclusion of the denationalisation procedure in 2004 the Municipality of Krško started with the activities of projects preparations that are the basis of a very successful completion of the castle renovation. Proceeding from the existing situation and leaning on various actors that took care of the castle in order to make it alive and basically maintained the Municipality started with projects preparation activities for construction as well as substantive renovation and revitalization. In September 2005 the project group for the procedure of administration of development guidelines of the complete renovation of Rajhenburg castle was appointed. The project group for the renovation of Rajhenburg castle was appointed a year later. Both had the task to prepare starting points for successful preparation and implementation of the project that was named »The complete renovation of Rajhenburg castle«. At the end of 2006 the Municipality of Krško held the competition for Investment and project documentation for the renovation of Rajhenburg castle. GEA CONSULT, d. o. o., Škofja Loka was selected. In January 2007 the Municipality of Krško produced the Identification document of the investment project, in July 2007 the Conservation programme was prepared and Alenka Železnik (ZVKD OE Ljubljana) was appointed the conservation person in charge. After the publication of the open tender call for contractors selection and after the selection itself the renovation started in April 2011 and finished in June 2012. The ceremony opening took part in Rajhenburg castle on 1 December 2012. In accordance with the Ordinance establishing a public institute the Krško Culture Centre (OG RS, No 109/09) the Municipality of Krško established the unit of Rajhenburg castle at the end of 2009.
